Who We Are
Article 31 is one of the most neglected of all the Articles of the Convention worldwide, while PLAY is one of the most important activities of childhood.
A Chance to Play Southern Africa (together with all its affiliates throughout the SADC region) fights for the right of every child to have access to safe, age and ability appropriate play areas and activities.
Mission
To promote the Right to Play as an essential part of the child’s holistic development and wellbeing through advocacy, capacity building and mobilization of resources in collaboration with stakeholders at all levels of society.
Active play encourages healthy physical development. While playing, children develop critical social skills like communicating, sharing and negotiating as well as developing perseverance, problem solving skills and creative thinking.
